2001 ANNUAL AWARDS DINNER
The Committee on Awards and Special Events of The Academy of Medicine of New Jersey is soliciting recommendations for candidates for our two Annual Awards.
The EDWARD J. ILL AWARD is presented "to that physician of New Jersey who merits recognition by the Academy for distinguished service as a leader in the medical profession and in the community at large."
The CITIZEN'S AWARD is presented "to that citizen or group of citizens of New Jersey who merit recognition by the Academy for distinguished service in the interest of the health and welfare of the community at large."
All Fellows and friends of The Academy of Medicine of New Jersey are invited to submit recommendations. The curriculum vitae of the candidate should be sent, accompanied by a letter explaining, in as much detail as possible, the reasons for this nomination. Any additional supporting information will be welcomed. The candidate should be informed that his/her name is being submitted.
In 1997 the Academy implemented two new awards which can be given at the discretion of the Board of Trustees. Please consider the following in your deliberations.
The PRESIDENT'S MEDICAL EDUCATORS AWARD is presented to a medical educator who has contributed significantly to graduate and undergraduate medical education.
The MEDICAL EXECUTIVE AWARD is presented to a medical executive usually, but not exclusively a lay individual with a fundamental interest in health care and a commitment to enhancement of medical practice.
The deadline for receiving recommendations for the 2001 Awards is September 29, 2000. Following that date, our Committee will review all recommendations. Additional supporting information may be requested about candidates. The Committee will make its final recommendations for these Awards to the Board of Trustees in November 2000; and the announcement will be made immediately afterward. The Awards will be given at the Annual Awards Dinner of The Academy of Medicine on Wednesday, May 23, 2001. Please use the following tear-off with your submission material.
